Focus Polymers & Emulsion Ltd. makes the self-crosslinking acrylic binder that stiffens PET tubular gauntlet for lead-acid battery positive plates. Four grades under the White Magic brand, made at our own Roorkee plant under ISO 9001:2015, supplied in 55 kg and 220 kg drums to gauntlet producers in India and abroad.
one chemistry, from a value tier up to 50% solids
self-crosslinking, no external crosslinker needed
made at our Roorkee plant, not traded
batch-to-batch consistency you can audit
All four are self-crosslinking acrylic copolymers at pH 6 to 7, cured at 200 to 215°C for 10 minutes, packed in 55 kg and 220 kg drums. They differ in solids and viscosity.
| Grade | Solids | Brookfield | B4 Ford Cup | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GT 1000 | 45 ± 1% | 80 – 120 cps | 14 – 18 seconds | Standard baseline grade |
| A 99 | 45 ± 1% | 80 – 120 cps | 14 – 18 seconds | Equivalent to imported binders |
| TB 5000 | 50 ± 1% | 100 – 140 cps | 16 – 20 seconds | Heavier build-up in a single pass |
| E 43 | 43 ± 1% | 80 – 120 cps | 14 – 18 seconds | Value tier, cost-sensitive lines |

Dip 100% PET woven tubular gauntlet fabric into the emulsion. Set the padding rolls for 25 to 30 percent weight pick-up to reach your target stiffness.
Dry the impregnated fabric at 70°C for 30 minutes.
Cut to size and insert stainless steel rods into the gauntlet tubes.
Cure at 200 to 215°C for 10 minutes to activate the crosslinking.
De-rod and pack.
For the chemistry behind this, read why a gauntlet binder is needed at all on our blog.
It is the resin that a woven polyester tubular gauntlet is impregnated with before it goes into a lead-acid battery. The binder stiffens the fabric so the tube holds its shape, keeps the positive active material from shedding during charge and discharge cycles, and leaves enough porosity for the electrolyte to pass through. Without it the gauntlet is just limp fabric.
GT-1000 is the baseline and suits most tubular gauntlet lines. Choose TB-5000 if you want a heavier wall in fewer impregnation passes, A-99 if you are replacing an imported binder and want a like-for-like substitution, and E-43 if cost per kilogram is the deciding factor. We will send samples of more than one so you can run them side by side.

A-99 is formulated as a direct performance equivalent to leading imported battery gauntlet binders. Send us the binder you currently run and the gauntlet specification you have to hit, and our technical team will tell you which grade matches it and supply a trial quantity.
Yes. All four grades are self-crosslinking acrylic copolymers with acid resistance in sulphuric acid electrolyte and oxidation resistance for long-term stability inside the battery. Stiffness and oxidation resistance vary by grade, so ask us for comparative test data against your own gauntlet specification.
All four grades ship in 55 kg and 220 kg drums with four months of shelf life in the sealed container. We manufacture in Roorkee, Uttarakhand and already supply export markets including Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the UAE. Write to info@focuspolymers.com or call +91-9811051601.
Tell us the fabric you run, the stiffness you need and the binder you use today. We will name the grade that matches and send a trial quantity. We respond within 24 hours.
